Hello and welcome! Let's explore the beauty and complexity of Spanish guitar, business, and life together.
Today, I want to deep dive into the concept of time and knowledge as your main assets in life. How many times have you found yourself having a conversation about the future and life goals that constantly revolves around the concept of having more money to be able to do things? I know you do it because I find myself doing it quite often. However, I believe that as we start to understand the real value of money and the importance of improving the quality of our lifestyle, we need to focus on creating a lifestyle with a lot of free time.
Many people think that free time means just sitting around watching videos all day. I don't. When I say free time, I refer to having the time to find that one idea that will completely change your life and give you that upside growth that you always see in other people and describe as "luck". This brings me to the concept of TIME and KNOWLEDGE as your main assets in life.
Always being prepared to listen and learn from those who have experience is something very valuable that often gets disregarded in the need to not look silly in someone else's eyes. The sad outcome is that you end up not learning anything.
Isaac Newton said, "If I have seen further than others, it is by standing upon the shoulders of giants." In other words, we cannot move forward and grow without learning from mentors, teachers, and other people.
As a musician, there are many elements to consider when it comes to achieving success. You need to manage your finances, provide excellent customer service, maintain a healthy work-life balance, and understand the nature of money.
To break it down into our everyday life:
Going to work every day in order to improve your life quality has the underlying goal of creating free time for yourself as you move forward. If this is not happening for you, it may be a good time to ask yourself why you do what you do for a living and if you feel happy doing it. But most importantly, are you succeeding in creating free time as the years go by? Every day, I realize that to make it work in this new world of constant content creation, you need to be very proficient at your job, but also a great financial administrator.
Understanding the nature of money and the difference between assets and liabilities in your life is critical to achieving balance. People believe that buying a new car or even a home with a bank loan that will be repaid with your day job for the next 30 years is a way to generate assets. I couldn't disagree more. You are buying debt with the promise that your life and the world will be exactly the same for the next 30 years. It seems like a bigger bet than investing in your dreams and the possibility of becoming the best version of yourself.
I believe the real balance comes once you develop and educate yourself, learn from everything and everyone you interact with, and find that one thing you love doing to create real value. By doing these things, you cannot avoid improving yourself and arriving at the unavoidable future where you are well-rewarded with lots of free time and money to live to your greatest potential.
Warren Buffett is one of the biggest investors of all time and has tons of money, but he is 95 years old. Would you trade your life today for someone who is 95, even with the money attached to the trade? I know I wouldn't. Time is VERY valuable when you put it in perspective. To me, the opportunity to create your own path is the biggest reward in life.
As your finances improve, you will also need to learn what to do with your wealth, and that's where the Trojan horse I found comes into the picture. I wouldn't dare to give financial advice to anyone, but what I can do is share my journey and how what I thought was a get-rich-quick scheme has turned my life around in very little time and given me lots of FREE TIME to do things like sharing my story, spending more time with my loved ones, playing music full time, and continuing my everyday learning journey.
Not an easy task and requires a lot of PROOF OF WORK every single day.
Starting next week, I will be sharing more of my personal journey and what I believe has been the key to becoming the best version of myself. I'm not there yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm on the right path, and we can share the ride if you are up to the challenge.
See you next week!

¡Hola y bienvenidos!
