Understanding the possibilities of adding technology to your business is the key to lasting success.
"It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change." - Charles Darwin
Welcome to number 48... almost 50 articles, and here we are. If you made it this far, thank you for the support. If you shared the articles... extra thank you for passing the information along! Today is a continuation of what I discussed in the last article. Many businesses, workers, people in general, pretend to last forever without understanding the change that technology brings to the table. Some people continue to advertise and sell to a crowd that is no longer there... and the results are empty restaurants, lack of customer service, and more people preferring the mobile on-the-go option than actually speaking to a human being... Grab your coffee or drink of choice and let’s dive into why I think the struggles in the economy and the shortage of good businesses have to do with old schoolers trying to dictate the future by promoting the tools of the past.
Today’s breakdown:
1- The news that caught my eyes this week.
2- Book recommendation for the week.
3- My analysis on today’s topic.

Bitcoin price surges towards record highs: The price of Bitcoin reached its highest point since November 2021, breaking the $63,000 mark for the first time in over a year. This surge is being attributed to several factors, including anticipation of the upcoming Bitcoin halving event, positive sentiment in the broader financial markets, and continued institutional adoption of Bitcoin. (Source: CoinDesk)
Bitcoin exchange reserves continue to decline: The amount of Bitcoin held on cryptocurrency exchanges continues to decline, reaching levels not seen since 2018. This trend suggests that investors are increasingly holding onto their Bitcoin for the long term, potentially contributing to the recent price uptick. (Source: Cointelegraph)
MicroStrategy continues to buy Bitcoin: MicroStrategy, a company known for its aggressive Bitcoin investment strategy, added another 3,000 BTC to its portfolio, bringing its total holdings to nearly 193,000 BTC.

2- Book recommendation for the week.
"The Price of Tomorrow: Why Deflation is the Key to an Abundant Future" - by Jeff Booth.
Published in 2020, the book explores the concept of deflation and its potential benefits in the modern economy, challenging conventional economic thinking that views inflation as necessary for growth. Booth argues that technological progress naturally leads to deflationary pressures and that embracing this trend could lead to a more abundant and prosperous future. He delves into how government and central bank efforts to combat deflation through monetary policy may be counterproductive in the long run. Overall, "The Price of Tomorrow" presents a stimulating perspective on the intersection of technology, economics, and the future of society.
3- My analysis on today’s topic.
The beast has awakened... and whether you like it or not, #Bitcoin is becoming a significant part of the world. Your business will be affected, as with any other technology out there. Either you adapt or you will be priced out. Unfortunately, people tend to think within an echo chamber where anything that doesn't sound appealing or align with their values and beliefs automatically gets canceled or pushed away.
I had the opportunity to witness a sad performance while visiting my kid’s school this past week. Teachers were completely disconnected from what’s going on with the students, authorities were afraid to shut down disrespectful actions (even apologizing to the student for having to do so)… but saddest of all, there was a complete incapacity to maintain a straight conversation with a parent or another adult. No wonder kids today are bored at school and lack incentive. The common answers are “I don’t care,” “I’ll just go to work to pay bills,” “I guess I’ll go to college and see what I want to be in the future”... WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY!!! The system is becoming so obsolete that it no longer cares about productivity or human development; as long as you fall in line, all is considered good. If Google says that you are an A plus student because you completed the multiple-choice test, all is considered good. The funny thing is, as soon as they leave the school system, they all go and order goods and services online, drive a Tesla, get their information on their phone, pay for their concert tickets with a simple click... but no one cares about knowing how this virtual world is created, how we can participate in it, or what happens if it breaks.
Imagine running your entire business on an online platform. Reviews, bookings, orders, banking, bookkeeping... everything is online. What happens if all of that were suddenly shut down? I know, you are going to say it's not possible... well, due to a glitch, some people saw their Coinbase balance showing $0 during yesterday’s trading session, and support was nowhere to be found. PayPal has frozen several accounts, and as a PayPal user, good luck trying to reach them if you are in a hurry. Unfortunately, all these things are not accounted for when we allow ourselves to depend on third parties to provide us with essential goods and services. We build businesses around Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms, and the reality is that we are up and running for as long as they let us... Now, you are going to tell me that your bank will never rug pull you because of the law... but they don't have to. Raising rates, printing money, adding taxes, raising gas prices, or getting you into unnecessary debt is the perfect way to destroy your purchasing power with your consent. If you are running a small business or working for someone, you may have noticed that even with a raise in your wages, money is still tight. Some people keep calling their house an asset while spending thousands of dollars a year to keep it from falling apart... If you don’t know what an asset is, then you may be one of these individuals. Real estate is an asset when someone else pays the bills and you generate cash flow; otherwise, welcome to the sad reality that your house is just a house, not a savings account.
Technology is moving so fast that those who are not spending time learning it are getting priced out of the system little by little. But here’s the catch: those who are combining old techniques with new technologies are the ones changing the world. Every country is adapting to a world where #Bitcoin exists, becomes part of people’s portfolios, decides the financial future of a small country, and gets accepted by merchants in several parts of the world. If you only listen to the mainstream media’s FUD (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt), then you are not seeing the big picture. Your music became digital, your letters became digital, your movies became digital, your books became digital, but somehow you don’t believe your money will become digital…
Politicians are waking up to this trend, and the tune is changing rapidly; the biggest hedge funds in the world are eating up the supply by the minute, and the attack on the exchanges that allow you to buy #Bitcoin keeps growing and growing… the trend could not be clearer at this point. But yet... for some people, it is more important to follow a YouTuber selling scams or a TikToker dancing in the restroom for a couple of clicks. Going to work without knowing what you are getting in exchange for your time and skills is a huge waste of time, and unfortunately, the public school system is completely obsolete when it comes to teaching the value of your time and energy.
Unless we decide to start using the technological tools at our disposal to improve our knowledge and to understand better what money is, the world will continue to price out those who still send you paper coupons to your physical mailbox, politicians will continue to text you their lies while you watch them do the “clown world” act in live streaming on X and get fact-checked on the spot, and most importantly, public school teachers will end up being replaced by a biased trained Artificial intelligence that provides tutoring to kids who no longer want to interact with another human. Don't be confused… the 2020 situation wasn’t an isolated incident… It happened before and, as they like to say, it was a training exercise.
As today’s title says... it is a game of musical chairs, and when the music stops, those who don’t know what a chair is... will not get to keep playing.
See you next week!
