Today, I want to talk about a concept that is the most important part of joining the Bitcoin network, but I also believe it applies to our everyday life and business. Grab your coffee or your favorite drink, and let's get to work...

Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins...

Many people, or I should say most of us, get into Bitcoin when we first hear about the financial opportunity. Some make the horrible mistake of running to the next big shiny object (Crypto and Altcoins) and learn the hard way that becoming wealthy and successful has very little to do with the casino, gambling, or the outside world. It takes time. But the reason I like to call Bitcoin the Trojan Horse is because of the changes that happen around your life once you decide to study this new technology in depth.

The "Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins" concept comes from self-custody, which is something we often take for granted. Our entire financial stability and solvency depend on the acceptance or approval of whatever institution we trust to store our money. You can have 1 million dollars in your bank account, but you cannot access it unless the bank allows you to. You have limits for withdrawals, holds, and waiting times every time you want to move your money around. Most of the time, it is not even held at the institution, and if you move too much, they send you "recommendations" for your safety.

Bitcoin proposes a very ancient concept: SELF CUSTODY. And like Spiderman says, "with great power comes great responsibility." Once you start the journey of self-custody of the fruit of your work, you start including this concept into every aspect of your life. For me, it was my health, going back into learning mode, going the extra mile to deliver the best quality service I can provide when I'm performing, measuring the actual value of my time, the importance of what I eat, spending time with the family, and considering what legacy I will leave to my kids. And by contagion, your life and the life of your loved ones start to improve.

Today I heard someone say, "What got me into Bitcoin was to see how happy Bitcoiners always seem to be, and how prosperous and productive they all look from a distance." Well, I saw the same, and I'm starting to experience that life as well. I've always been a musician and made that my 24/7 job since I can remember, but I was always struggling to be happy and have a balanced life while building my business. Once the Trojan Horse got into my life, everything started to become easy somehow. The more I was learning, studying, and taking care of myself, the luckier I got with my music, business, and finances. The cherry on top? I’m spending more time with my loved ones as well.

Why do I share this with you? Because as much as I believe Bitcoin to be the most perfect money ever created, I believe that when you decide to produce real value and really understand the concept of exchanging very high quality goods and services for money, it allows you to become the best version of yourself.

A person who is constantly learning and evolving, a person who produces a good or service thinking about how it will improve the world or someone's life, a person who can think 5 to 10 years ahead with every decision and understands the value of compounding earnings instead of a quick buck and instant gratification... will be successful by default.

It is sad to see how many times the politicians and corrupt institutions of my native country of Argentina have robbed the people of their money, valuables, and crushed their purchasing power and dreams. The only sin for these people was to trust that their leaders would be looking out for their best interests and not for personal gains. However, they have managed to create a dependency system where your money is not in your possession and is only available to you upon approval... Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins...

It's easy to express concern from a distance, but when I started to pay more attention, I saw the same pattern repeat in my beloved USA... Not Your Keys, Not Your Coins... As we enter another year of elections around the world, full of empty promises and baseless arguments that only serve the purpose of scaring and dividing humanity, I look forward to seeing the next generations embrace the concept of creating real value, coexistence, and self-custody of their virtues. Like my dad always says, "You cannot be outside of the system, but make sure that it has very little impact on how you decide to live your life."

Take charge of your life, your career, your business, your art, and don't let anyone manage your coins... Like the self-custody system in Bitcoin... Let's make sure we self-custody our life.

"No son tus llaves, no son tus monedas"...

Muchas personas, o debería decir que la mayoría de nosotros, nos introducimos en Bitcoin cuando escuchamos por primera vez sobre la oportunidad financiera. Algunos cometen el horrible error de correr hacia el siguiente objeto brillante (criptomonedas y altcoins) y aprenden de la peor manera que volverse rico y exitoso tiene muy poco que ver con el casino, el juego y el mundo exterior. Se necesita tiempo. Pero la razón por la que me gusta llamar a Bitcoin el Caballo de Troya es por los cambios que ocurren en tu vida una vez que decides estudiar esta nueva tecnología en profundidad.

El concepto de "No son tus llaves, no son tus monedas" proviene de la custodia propia, algo que a menudo damos por sentado. Nuestra estabilidad financiera y solvencia dependen de la aceptación o aprobación de la institución en la que confiamos para almacenar nuestro dinero. Puedes tener un millón de dólares en tu cuenta bancaria, pero no puedes acceder a ellos a menos que el banco te lo permita. Tienes límites para retiros, retenciones y tiempos de espera cada vez que quieres mover tu dinero. La mayoría de las veces, ni siquiera se encuentra en la institución y, si mueves demasiadas cantidades, te envían "recomendaciones" para tu seguridad.

Bitcoin propone un concepto muy antiguo: LA AUTO-CUSTODIA. Y como dice Spiderman, "con un gran poder viene una gran responsabilidad". Una vez que comienzas el viaje de la autocustodia del fruto de tu trabajo, empiezas a incluir este concepto en cada aspecto de tu vida. Para mí, fue mi salud, volver al modo de aprendizaje, hacer un esfuerzo adicional para ofrecer la mejor calidad de servicio que puedo brindar cuando estoy tocando mi música, medir el valor real de mi tiempo, la importancia de mi alimentación, pasar más tiempo con la familia y considerar qué legado le dejaré a mis hijos. Y por contagio, tu vida y la vida de tus seres queridos comienzan a mejorar.

Hoy escuché a alguien decir: "Lo que me atrajo de Bitcoin fue ver lo felices que siempre parecen ser los bitcoiners, y lo prósperos y productivos que lucen desde lejos". Bueno, yo vi lo mismo y también estoy comenzando a experimentar esa vida. Siempre fui músico y convertí la música en mi trabajo desde que tengo memoria, pero siempre tuve conflictos para tener una vida equilibrada mientras construía mi negocio. Una vez que el Caballo de Troya entró en mi vida, todo comenzó a volverse más fácil de alguna manera. Cuanto más aprendía, estudiaba y cuidaba de mí mismo, más suerte tenía con mi música, mi negocio y mis finanzas. ¿La fresa del pastel?… También paso más tiempo con mis seres queridos.

¿Por qué comparto esto contigo? Porque, por mucho que crea que Bitcoin es el dinero más perfecto jamás creado, creo que cuando decides producir un valor real y realmente comprendes el concepto de intercambiar bienes y servicios de alta calidad por dinero, te permites convertirte en la mejor versión de ti mismo.

Una persona que está constantemente aprendiendo y evolucionando, una persona que produce un bien o servicio pensando en cómo mejorará el mundo o la vida de alguien, una persona que puede pensar de 5 a 10 años en el futuro con cada decisión y comprende el valor de los ingresos compuestos en lugar de una ganancia rápida y gratificación instantánea... será exitosa por defecto.

Es triste ver cuántas veces los políticos y las instituciones corruptas de mi país natal, Argentina, han robado el dinero y los bienes de las personas, y han aplastado su poder adquisitivo y sus sueños. El único pecado de estas personas fue confiar en que sus líderes velarían por sus intereses y no por ganancias personales. Sin embargo, han logrado crear un sistema de dependencia en el que tu dinero no está en tu posesión y solo está disponible para ti previa aprobación... No son tus llaves, no son tus monedas...

Es fácil expresar preocupación desde lejos, pero cuando empecé a prestar más atención, vi que el mismo patrón se repite en mi amado Estados Unidos... No son tus llaves, no son tus monedas... A medida que entramos en otro año de elecciones alrededor del mundo, lleno de promesas vacías y argumentos infundados que solo sirven para asustar y dividir a la humanidad, espero ver a las próximas generaciones abrazar el concepto de crear valor real, convivencia y auto-custodia de sus virtudes. Como dice mi padre: "No puedes estar fuera del sistema, pero asegúrate de que tenga muy poco impacto en cómo decides vivir tu vida".

Toma el control de tu vida, tu carrera, tu negocio, tu arte y no dejes que nadie administre tus monedas... Como el sistema de auto-custodia en Bitcoin... Asegurémonos de auto-custodiar nuestra vida.
